The Wireless Infrastructure Association is collaborating with government, industry, and non-profit organizations to support the buildout of 5G networks in South Africa

In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, WIA is delivering 5 separate knowledge-sharing events during the span of this project. This upcoming event will take place at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria on 12 and 13 March.

Simone von Helden

Executive Head of Legal, Public Affairs and Compliance

Simone von Helden has nearly 20 years of experience in South Africa in a legal leadership role servicing multi-national countries to launch in and navigate the South African telecommunications market.  She served as the Chief Legal Officer for Virgin Mobile (the first MVNO is SA) for 10 years. She then went on to consult for 5 years in telecommunications and financial services but missed being at the heart of the business. In 2020 she joined ATC South Africa and currently serves as the Executive Head of Legal, Public Affairs, and Compliance. She is passionate about creating a connected world and is driven by finding pragmatic and commercial solutions to the challenges that the telecommunications sector face in a fast-paced and ever-changing tech world.
